Men Open FNU Beach Bash Beating Blue Lights, Extend Win Streak to Six

HIALEAH, Fl. (January 5, 2018) – The SUNY Delhi men's basketball team opened the Florida National Beach Bash Thursday evening with their sixth straight win, a 79-68 triumph over Blue Lights. The Broncos, now 9-7, were treated to a quartet of double-digit scoring performances from Jake Slobe, William Knight, Payton Dean and Jordan Fragale, while Saquan Goland totaled a team-best 14 rebounds.

Slobe led the way with 18 points, netting four 3-pointers, with Knight connecting for 17 points and drilling a team-best five threes. Fragale recorded 13 points and dished out six assists, making 6-of-6 free throws, while Dean had 12 points with seven boards, making 8-of-10 from the charity stripe. Carlos Ithier added nine points.

The Broncos maintained the lead from the outset, taking a 51-33 advantage at the half.

Delhi continues the Beach Blast taking on Virgin Islands on Friday at 5:00 p.m.
