DELHI, N.Y. (December 17, 2017) – The Broncos' quest for .500 proved fruitful Sunday afternoon, as their 78-74 win over Morrisville State not only guided the men to a season-best four-game winning streak, it put Delhi at 7-7 to even its record for the first time this season. Down, 35-28, at the half, Delhi surged to 50 second-half points, along with four men scoring in double digits and double-doubles from Jordan Fragale and Payton Dean.

After starting the year at 0-4 and dropping three straight to stand at 3-7, coach Zack Thomsen's team has won four straight contests, with three of them coming against NCAA Division III opponents. The Broncos are 3-1 versus D3 competition, including wins against Cazenovia and Houghton.

Dean led the team with 16 points and ten rebounds Sunday, with Fragale connecting for 14 points and a game-high dozen assists. Jake Slobe made a game-best four 3-pointers on his way to 14 points, while Carlos Ithier drilled a trio of threes for 12 points.

The Broncos jumped out to a pair of four-point leads to start the game before Morrisville State took control, going on a 14-5 run to close out the half for a 35-28 lead. The Mustangs stretched their lead to as much as nine to start the second period, but the Broncos worked their way back in. After hanging in being down by one possession, Delhi grabbed the lead on a Fragale layup at 58-56 with 7:21 to play. Morrisville State would take back the lead on an ensuing three, after which Terrance McBride drilled a jumper to put the Broncos ahead for good with 6:45 to play. Delhi tallied the next six points to extend its lead to seven at 66-59 with 6:05 to go, and cruised to the win.

SUNY Delhi outshot Morrisville State from the floor, 43.9 percent (25-for-570 to 41.7 percent (25-for-60). While the Broncos had a slight edge from behind the arc, 10-for-30 to 6-for-21, they made five triples in the second half, compared to two for the Mustangs. Delhi led in points off turnovers, 17-7, forcing Morrisville into 14 turnovers, and held a 33-31 advantage in bench points. The Broncos did trail, 44-34, in rebounds, and committed ten turnovers.
