The Broncos take down SUNY Canton 2-0 in the Final Match of the Season

Canton, NY - Delhi Women's Soccer (6-6-4, 4-3-3) took a trip north to Canton to match up against conference opponents SUNY Canton for their final regular season game. The Lady Broncos continue their dominance over the NAC West Division, beating Canton to remain unbeaten against divisional opponents. They end up as the top team in the NAC West going into the tournament for the second year in a row. While senior Kelsey Innes makes history once again after becoming SUNY Delhi's all-time points leader last week.

The Green and Gold start off on the attack, piling up six shots before Alanna Ruchar would set up Kelsey Innes for the first goal of the game. Innes would snag her 11th of the season in the 29th minute for the 45th goal of her Delhi career.

The Ruchar and Innes connection showed once again, as Ruchar would cross the ball after a pass from Ayla Vorisek into the box to find Innes for her second goal. With that goal in the 36th minute, Innes tied Bronco Alumni Katie Herba (2016-18) for most career goals with 46. She ended her season ranked second in total goals and third overall in total points in the NAC.

Canton would be unable to formulate anything as they were held to just 2 shots in the first half as they trailed 2-0. It was then a quiet second half as both teams battled back and forth. The Roos would put pressure on the Delhi defense to make plays, but the Broncos were able to halt Canton's advancements. Delhi keeper Andraya Hunt would total four saves on Canton's six shots as she would grab a clean sheet. Hunt ends the 2022 season as the NAC leader in shutouts with seven total. Defender Olivia Curry, although ended without an assist on the day finishes tied for first in the NAC with five assists on the season.

The Lady Broncos will prepare to host the NAC West Quarterfinals on Saturday, October 29th against Northern Vermont Johnson at 12pm.
