The Broncos Fall to Maine Maritime 2-1 at Home

Delhi, NY - The Broncos (2-6-4, 1-3-2) fell to a last-minute goal by NAC leaders Maine Maritime 2-1 on Sunday afternoon. Delhi was in the match till the final whistle but couldn't find their late equalizer. They remain second in the NAC West Division heading into the latter part of their season.

After coming off their fourth tie of the season the Green and Gold had a great overall match. Their defense played solid through the first half only letting up three shots with two on goal. The back line led by Olivia Curry had several momentum-stopping tackles as the first half would end with zero goals.

The Bronco's offense came to life in the second half as both teams started to push the ball down the field. Delhi would find the back of the net first as Micayla Slattery was able to navigate through the crowded box and put the ball away scoring her third of the season. She was assisted by a Kelsey Innes corner in the 57th minute. The Broncos would have a few more excellent chances to add to their total but were unable to capitalize.

The Mariners would even out the score in the 79th minute and later snag the lead in the 86th. The Broncos fought hard till the end but unfortunately weren't unable to overcome the late deficit.

They will prepare to face off against Morrisville State on Wednesday, October 12th at 7 pm under the lights of Neil Riddell Field.
