Delhi Women's Soccer Ends First Match at Neil Riddell Field with a Hard Fought Tie
Delhi - The Delhi Women's Soccer defended their new turf against SUNY ESF, ending the match 0-0. The whole match both programs went back and forth but the defense was key as the score stayed level at zeros when the buzzer went off.

Both teams had a few chances on goal but failed to capitalize, in total Delhi took five shots with three on goal. At half-time, it was clear both defenses were not going to give way, with the two teams having only two shots each.

"It was great to finally open up and play our first official match in our new home. The energy level was really good throughout the game for both teams. We each had a few chances that weren't converted and the game was truly a stalemate for 90 minutes," said head coach Zach Brown, "We get the day off tomorrow then turn out attention to SUNY Maritime on Tuesday. We'll be looking to get on the scoreboard for the first time. We'll be ready to go"

In goal, Andraya Hunt had a great game completing her first clean sheet of the year. She denied all three of the Mighty Oak's shots on goal. She was aided by defender Kaitlyn Wethmuller who played very well on the back line and Juliana Largess in the midfield. Senior, Kelsey Innes also played really well with the ball at her feet.

After losing out to SUNY Cortland in their first match of the season the Broncos bounced back and played an excellent game at home. Delhi is now set to face off against SUNY Maritime (NY) on the road Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 5 pm.
