Broncos Battle, Fall to Wildcats in NAC West Final

DELHI, NY (February 19, 2022) - SUNY Delhi men's basketball played host to the SUNY Poly Wildcats in the NAC West Final. The Broncos battled throughout the game, forcing 17 turnovers, but it wasn't enough to overcome a slow start, eventually falling 82-57.

In the Broncos semi-final game against NVU-Johnson, they were able to rely on some well-taken three pointers and efficient scoring but in the 40 minutes against the Wildcats it seemed there was a lid on the basket; shooting below their average for the season.

A big talking point throughout the game was Delhi and their foul trouble. Poly was able to get to the bonus before the halfway point in the first half and helped them build a lead they never surrended. The Delhi men got to the free throw line 23 less times over the course of the game; making a big difference on the outcome.

Norman Wilson lead the Broncos with 17 points and Erhunosere Uwuigbe chipped in for 15, in what could turn out to be their last game played in Floyd L. Maines Arena.

Delhi Men's basketball was the third Delhi team to advance to the NAC West final for the 2021-2022 seasons, joining women's soccer and volleyball.

SUNY Poly will advance to the NAC Final where they will face off against Husson. The winner will earn an automatic qualifier and represent the North Atlantic Conference in the NCAA D3 National Tournament.
