Broncos Pick Up Second Win of 2022

FITCHBURG, MA (January 13, 2022) With Covid related postponements and cancellations wreaking havoc on the college basketball schedules, the Broncos hit the road for an impromptu game at Fitchburg State University.  This was the second game of 2022 for Delhi and the first time back on the hardwood for Fitchburg State.

The game stayed close for the early stages with a until midway through the first half when Delhi scored 12 unanswered points to push their lead into the double digits before reaching halftime with a nine point advantage.

In the second half, the lead hovered between five and ten points for most of the way before tightening up a little late in the half.  In the end, the final score was 85-79 giving Delhi their 10th win of the season moving their overall record to 10-4.

The team was led by Junior Norman Wilson and his game high 27 points and four steals, with junior Mavenson Therneus adding 19 points and six rebounds. Freshman point guard Isiah Barnes also added game high tallies of six steals and six assists.

The Broncos weekend slate of games have been cancelled and postponed.  The Broncos next action will be at home against Bard College on Tuesday the 18th.  The game has been moved up from the February 1st date.
