CLARKS SUMMIT Pa. (November 18, 2021) - The SUNY Delhi men's basketball team was back on the road and their winnings ways Thursday night, heading to Clark Summit to post their highest-scoring game of the season in a 96-74 victory. The Broncos used their eighth straight road win dating back to the 2019-20 season to improve to 4-1, rebounding from an 89-63 home defeat to RPI back on Tuesday night.

Tied at 4-4 to start the game, Delhi turned on the jets with back-to-back threes from Erhunosere Uwuigbe and Fauzi Cizmesija-Ulmer to thrust the Broncos ahead to stay, turning in a 49-33 lead at halftime. The Broncos maintained their comfortable lead with their trademark consistently play between halves, as four players finished in double digits in scoring and another nine dropping points. Delhi held as much as a 31-point lead on the night.

The freshmen took the top three in scoring, as Cizmesija-Ulmer led with 15 points, making 6-of-9 field goals and 3-of-6 threes, while Lester McCarthy posted 14 points with a trio of triples, as well. Brennan Heaven reeled in 12 points, making 4-of-6 from the field and 2-of-3 on threes, with Uwuigbe netting 11 points in a 3-for-7 showing from 3-point range. Pablo Quinones flirted with a double-double, garnering nine points with ten rebounds.

SUNY Delhi did not hold back from shooting, making 35-of-88 from the field for a 39.8 field goal percentage and making 15-of-46 from downtown, while connecting on 11-of-15 free throws. CSU fared 24-of-57 for a 42.1 percentage, hitting 4-of-10 threes and 22-of-34 from the free throw line. The Defenders picked up the checkmark in the rebounding category, leading 52-41, though the Broncos held a 20-18 edge on offensive boards that added to a 26-13 lead in second-chance points. The green and gold also forced the Defenders into 30 turnovers on 19 steals, cashing them in for a 33-14 advantage in points off turnovers.

"It was a nice bounce-back win tonight," said Head Coach Zack Thomsen, "and we were able to get some guys in who haven't played much this season."

The Broncos have a home date with Alfred University Saturday at 2:00 p.m. before a road game Tuesday at Bard and a home matchup with Williams next Sunday wrapped around their Thanksgiving break.
