DELHI, N.Y. (November 16, 2021) – It was an uncommon sight for most Broncos fans Tuesday night as the SUNY Delhi men's basketball welcomed a talented Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute squad, with the guests engineering a sound 89-63 victory. The final result of the battle of the unbeatens sent Delhi to 3-1 on the year and the Engineers to 3-0. It also ended the Broncos' 14-game win streak that dated back to their 11-game win streak to close out the 2019-20 season, with only three other defeats separating them from their previous setback with RPI back on Dec. 29, 2019, a 78-70 Engineers win.

RPI's shooting was on-point, with their 56.5 3-point field goal percentage (13-of-23) beating out their 52.6 overall field goal percentage (30-of-57), as well as shooting 16-of-21 from the free throw line, making their first ten. The Broncos fared with a 35.8 field goal percentage (24-of-67), making just 4-of-26 threes and a stron 11-of-14 on free throws. The Engineers also controlled the rebounding game, leading 50-22, with their 13 offensive boards accounting for a 15-4 advantage in second-chance points. Delhi did force RPI into 22 turnovers with 13 steals for a 21-11 lead in points off turnovers, and outscored them 29-28 in bench points on an evening where 34 players took the court - 18 for Delhi, 16 for RPI.

Norman Wilson was the Broncos' scoring leader with 17 points, while Pablo Quinones was next with ten points, hitting on 4-of-6 field goal attempts. Isiah Barnes totaled eight points with four assists, with him and Jacob Beach each accounting for a pair of steals. Nakhi Bishop had three blocks to go with four points and four boards.

Head coach Zack Thomsen's team looks to rebound this Thursday with a trip to Clarks Summit, beginning at 7:00 p.m. They are then back home this Saturday to take on Alfred University at 2:00 p.m.
