Pablo Quinones Honored as NAC Rookie of the Week

WATERVILLE, Me. (December 13, 2021) – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) today announced Pablo Quinones (Highland Mills, NY / Monroe-Woodbury) as its Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week. After a noteworthy game off the bench at Russell Sage Tuesday, Quinones made the most out of his return to the starting lineup for the Broncos' 2-0 NAC West weekend, helping defeat Northern Vermont Johnson and SUNY Canton. SUNY Delhi is 7-4 overall and 3-0 in NAC play with one more game before winter break.

The native of Highland Mills, N.Y. leaped into action Tuesday night as the Broncos nearly erased a 26 first-half deficit on the host Gators. Following a shaky start, down 19-0, Quinones came off the pine to administer ten points and six rebounds in 27 minutes of play, shooting 5-of-8 from the floor as Delhi came to within two points of Russell Sage in the final moments, ultimately coming up short in a 85-80 decision. This performance thrusted the 6'5 forward into Friday's starting five versus the Badgers, where he contributed seven points with eight rebounds as the Broncos took a 73-61 win. He continued on against the Roos Saturday with a team-best 16 points, five rebounds, and two steals, making two of his three 3-pointers in the final ten minutes as Delhi pulled away, extending its four-point lead to as much as 16 in that home stretch towards a 69-54 triumph.

Quinones and the Broncos wrap up the 2021 leg of their season with a home contest versus Bryant & Stratton Syracuse Friday at 7:00 p.m.
