WATERVILLE, Me. (November 29, 2021) – SUNY Delhi men's basketball's Lester McCarthy (Dobbs Ferry, NY / Dobbs Ferry) was named the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Rookie of the Week following his performance in the Broncos' lone game over Thanksgiving Weekend against Williams Sunday.

Facing an unbeaten Ephs squad, the Broncos refused to back down despite some sizable deficits. Down 14-3 at the outset, Delhi climbed back to come to within seven twice in the first half. Facing a 69-46 gap with under nine minutes to play, the Broncos countered with a 17-0 run over the next eight minutes. McCarthy played into this by scoring eight points and swiping three of Delhi's 11 steals on the day. He made 3-of-6 from the floor, including 2-of-5 from long range in 21 minutes of action.

McCarthy and the Broncos gear up for their NAC season opener hosting SUNY Cobleskill this Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
