Payton Dean Pulls Down ACAA Player of the Week

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (January 2, 2020) – In its final selection for 2019, the American Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) announced senior forward Payton Dean (Harpursville, NY / Harpursville) as its Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

Dean posted a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds versus Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Sunday in Delhi's first game of the Utica College Classic. With the Broncos trailing the Engineers at halftime, 43-24, Dean provided a spark by scoring all his points and gathering nine his boards in the second half. Despite cutting the deficit to as little as four points, Delhi came up short, 78-70. The Harpursville, NY native added nine points and seven rebounds in Monday's meeting with the Utica Pioneers. He currently has 908 career points, just 92 points away from reaching the 1,000 career-point milestone.

Dean and the Broncos return to their home court later this week for a pair of home games, starting with local foe Hartwick on Thursday at 5:30 p.m., followed by future NAC rival SUNY Canton on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. Delhi is 4-1 at home this season and victorious in 14 of its last 15 meetings over the last two seasons in Floyd L. Maines Arena.
