UNIONTOWN, Pa. (March 3, 2020) – Fresh off their second straight ACAA championship, the SUNY Delhi men's basketball team will add one final stop to their incredible season after being selected as the third seed for next week's USCAA Division I National Tournament. The Broncos, currently 20-7 and winners of their last ten games, will play number-six seed Holy Family (14-16) in the opening round on Thursday, Mar. 12 at 12:00 p.m. The USCAA Tournament will be hosted by Penn State Fayette, running from Thursday, Mar. 12 to Saturday, Mar. 14.

"We are excited to have an opportunity to compete in the USCAA National Tournament," said head coach Zack Thomsen. "This has been a goal within our program for the past five years and to finally accomplish it with this year's group of seniors makes it even more special."

Coach Thomsen's team put on a dominating effort over the weekend as hosts of the ACAA Tournament. They set a single-game scoring record with 118 points in their 118-70 semifinals win over Valley Forge on Saturday, then held Pine Manor to a record-low 42 points in the championship game Sunday for a 94-42 victory. Senior guard Justin Daoud was named the ACAA Tournament MVP, while senior point guard Jordan Fragale was named to the ACAA All-Tournament Team. The two wins also propelled Delhi to its first 20-win season under the fifth-year Coach Thomsen, and first overall since 2013-14.

The USCAA Division I National Tournament consists of eight teams. Festivities will begin Wednesday, Mar. 11 with a ceremonial brunch, followed by a skills competition in the evening that will include a 3-point shootout and slam dunk contest. All four first-round games will be played Thursday, with the two consolation games and two championship games set for Friday. The championship will be played Saturday, Mar. 14 at 4:00 p.m. More information on the USCAA National Tournament (tickets, lodging, etc.) can be found on their website at theuscaa.com.
