Women's Volleyball 2022 Playoff Preview

The Women's Volleyball ended their 2022 season on a high note, going into the NAC post-season tournament with an overall record of (13-10) and an (8-0) in conference play. They hold the top seed in the NAC West Division for the second year in a row under head coach Beau Bracchy. The Broncos continued their dominance over conference opponents going undefeated in the regular season for the second year in a row.

Delhi saw their season start off on the wrong foot, losing five of their first six matches. But they quickly turned it around finishing the rest of the season with a record of (12-5) with the help of a six-match win streak. The Broncos ended the season with a (7-5) record at home while going even in away matches with five wins and five losses.

The Green and Gold finished another solid season, posting 9.93 kills and 8.89 assists per set. The Broncos had many standouts that helped them secure the top seed again, including junior Sage Renneisen who led the way on the attack. Renneisen had a great season at the net with a team-high 214 kills. She averaged 2.74 kills per set as she started 18 matches for Delhi. She posted a career-high in kills in the third to last match, hitting an impressive 17. Junior Stephanie Burke also had a solid season, putting up 201 kills with 34 total blocks. She had some very nice serves and was a consistent hitter for the Broncos.

Other standouts include setter Jaiden Venute who played a key role in the Bronco's returning to the top of the NAC West. She had 631 of the team's 720 season assists. Venute's 42 assists in a win against SUNY Canton, are the second most by any Bronco in a match since alumni Kristen Tucker's 47 assists in 2010. Katelyn Babcock also had a solid season posting 101 kills and 38 total blocks through the 20 matches she started. While freshman Genea Kadlubowski played a big role on the team as well, leading the Broncos in blocks with 52 total.

The Broncos will kick off their 2022 post-season against fourth-seed SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday, October 29th at 2:00 p.m. If they advance they will play the winner of SUNY Canton and Cazenovia the following day, Sunday, October 30th at noon. They will be looking to put last year's loss in the semi-finals to rest and advance to the NAC championship.
