Delhi Sweeps NAC Opponents SUNY Canton Saturday Night at Home

Delhi, NY - The Broncos (9-7, 4-1) took down NAC West Division opponents SUNY Canton in three sets to remain top of the division, marking their sixth sweep on the year. 

The first set was back and forth with seven lead changes and 11 ties. The Broncos went on a scoring run late after being down 17-19, tallying eight straight points to take the first set 25-19. Stephanie Burke led the way down the stretch serving seven times to get the Broncos the first-set win. The team combined for 11 kills on a .47 attacking percentage. 

The second set saw Delhi trailing the majority of the way. They found themselves down 21-16, but the Broncos clawed their way back without giving up another point, winning the set 25-21. Senior Gabriela Kralik took over on the serve down 18-21 and led the team to the win. She served eight times through that stretch with a perfect percentage and one service ace. Sage Renneisen also started heating up dishing out six of her 13 kills on the night in the second set.

Delhi put the foot on the gas pedal in the third set to complete the sweep. They took down the Roo's 25-14 in a dominant set. The Green and Gold ended their night with 27 kills as eight players recorded at least one. Jaiden Venute continued to dish out assists again tonight with the match-high 17 assists. 

The Broncos will be back in action on October 16th at noon when they take on NAC West Division opponents Cazenovia. They have faced off already this year when Delhi swept them on September 30th. The Broncos will also take the time to honor their two seniors, Gabriela Kralik and Chloe Elsenbeck before the match.
