Delhi Sweeps Cazenovia in NAC West Final to Advance to NAC Championship
 


Delhi, NY - The Broncos took on Cazenovia in the NAC West Division Sunday morning defeating the Wildcats in three sets. Delhi advances to their first NAC Championship match since joining the conference in 2019. 

The Green and Gold carried over their momentum from the quarterfinal match the day before and didn't let up, winning 25-22, 25-21 and 25-21. The Broncos were on the attack the whole match posting double-digit kills in each set.

The first set saw the Broncos down early as Cazenovia started the match on a 4-0 run. But the Broncos battled back in a tight set. Senior Chloe Elsenbeck led the way for the broncos through the set posting five kills and two service aces. The second set was back and forth as there were 12 tie scores and six lead changes. Delhi pulled away at the end, winning the set 25-21 on the back of Stephanie Burke's five kills. The Broncos then stampeded through the third set, gaining the early lead and never giving it up. They went on to take the final set 25-21 to complete the sweep. Six different players recorded a kill as Delhi was locked in. 

Delhi was led by Stephanie Burke and Chloe Elsenbeck who combined for 19 kills on some solid swings. Both players were big factors throughout the match with Burke adding two blocks and 13 digs. While Elsenbeck recorded three aces on 18 serving attempts. Setter Jaiden Venute had a solid game with the match-high 27 assists. While Libero Rebecca Heuler was great on the serves, putting up a team-high four aces on 12 serving attempts.

"We had a great energy today. Cazenovia put the pressure on us with their serves and made us work for our points today," said head coach Beau Bracchy, "Proud of this group's resilience and looking forward to their opportunity to play for the North Atlantic Conference Championship next Saturday!"

The Broncos will turn to their first NAC Championship appearance where they will host Maine Maritime Saturday, November 5th at noon.
