Delhi Volleyball Fights Hard but Drops Three Sets to One Against Russell Sage

It was a back-and-forth battle between the Broncos and the Gators, but Delhi couldn't get over the hump falling 1-3. The Broncos once again started off hot, winning the first set 25-23, but ended up losing the final three sets.

The second set was all the Gators as they held a four-point lead for the majority of the set with a high of eight points. The Broncos would attempt to climb back into the set but ultimately would be unsuccessful as the Gators would pick up their first win 25-20.

In the third set, the Broncos would attack early and hold a slim lead over the gators for the majority of the third set. In the end, the Gators would steal back the lead and hold onto it despite late resistance from the Broncos in the third set. Sage would take that set 25-22.

The final frame would include several rallies from each team but it was the Gators who were able to pull ahead enough to secure the victory.

Sage Renneisen and Stephanie Burke led the way for the Delhi attack, both having over 10 kills. While Jaiden Venute added an impressive 30 assists on the game.

The Broncos will now travel to Clark's Summit to face the Defenders at 6:30 pm on Thursday, Sept. 8th.
