Broncos Season Comes to a Close with OT Loss in NAC Final

Bangor, ME - The SUNY Delhi men's soccer team made the long trip to Husson University in Bangor, Maine for the North Atlantic Conference Championship match with a berth in the NCAA tournament on the line.

The men battled hard for the full ninety minutes and were still notted in a zero-zero tie.  About half way through the first overtime, Husson got the game winner from Will Feldman when he scored off a feed from Carlos Etchervers.  The Broncos battled hard for the remaining overtime, but were unable to convert an opportunity to tie the score and force the penalty kick shootout.  Goalkeeper Jonathon Walch kept them in the match with six saves of the seven shots faced on his way to earning an all-tournament team recognition.  Joining Walch on the all-tournament team were Michael Williams Jr. and Anthony Cuellar.

Following the match, Coach Reutemann relayed "This was a really special group of people.  Although not victorious today, this year was a tremendous success.  The team proved themselves winners time and time again including today with the way they fought for each other until the very end.  They neve gave up, never stopped and believed that they could do this and be here in the Conference Final today.  We want to thank our seniors, families and fans who supported us all season long.  We felt proud to wear the Bronco Crest for all of you."

This match brings the men's season to a close after what was an incredible turn around from a year ago.  One year after going 3-12-1, the Broncos finish at 10-7-2 having made their first NAC postseason and winning the NAC West Tournament Championship.  Coach Reutemann and the team will look to continue to build on this years momentum.
