Delhi Fights Back from First Half Deficit Tying Thomas 2-2
Delhi, NY - The Broncos (8-3-2, 4-0-2) took on Thomas College in a North Atlantic Conference match on Saturday and tied with two goals each. The Broncos remain unbeaten in NAC play this year with four wins and two draws.

The Broncos found themselves down early after Thomas found the first goal in the ninth minute. The Terriers would add on in the 33rd minute to go into the half up two goals to none.

"It really was a tale of two halves today for us. We made some substandard decisions with the ball in the first that you just wish you can get back," said head coach E.J. Reutemann, "The group banded together and fought for each other, which is really something to spotlight with the result."

But the Broncos weren't going to go away in the second half putting the pressure on Thomas. They kept attacking until they found their first goal in the 66th minute. Sinas Bouzikos scored his first goal of the season as his attempt was deflected off a defender and past the goalkeeper. The shot was set up by Eric Manta to inch Delhi closer to tying up the contest.

The energy kept building up for the Broncos in the second half as they were close to tying up the match on numerous chances. But on the back of sustained pressure, Delhi found their equalizer in the 83rd minute as NAC scoring leader Michael Williams Jr. caught the back of the net. The ball was bouncing around in front of the keeper and Bouzikos managed to tap the ball over to Williams Jr. for his third consecutive match with a goal. The strong second half from the Broncos would prove to be enough to walk away with a hard-earned tie against Thomas College.

"In back-to-back conference games such as this, it is often the second game that will define the weekend," said Reutemann, "Tomorrow is a very crucial game for us and we know that."

Delhi will now prepare to face off against another conference opponent, Maine Maritime Academy on Sunday, October 9th at 12 pm on Neil Riddell Field.
