Delhi Drops Home Match Against Maine Maritime 2-0

Delhi, NY - The Broncos (8-4-1, 4-1-1) took on North Atlantic Conference opponents Maine Maritime Sunday at noon but were defeated 2-0. Delhi remains at the top of the NAC West Division after their first loss in conference play.

The Broncos found themselves down in the 16th minute after the Mariners bounced a ball off the post and in. Maritime would later add to their total in the 32nd minute with a penalty kick for the final goal of the match.

Delhi fought hard to crawl back into the game but could not get past the Maritime defense, posting only three shots on goal. They weren't able to build any momentum as numerous free kicks and fouls halted them. Both teams combined for 25 fouls as it was a physical match. Delhi's Keeper John Walch recorded three saves including some great efforts to keep the Bronco in the match.

Delhi will now prepare for conference opponents SUNY Poly for their last regular season home game on Saturday, October 16th at 1 pm.
