Matt Serrao and Alexa Walcott take home the first honors of the year after their excellent performances in last week's contests. Freshman, Matt Serrao kicked off his Delhi career with a bang, winning Men's soccer Player of the Week. While Alexa Walcott and her incredible performance in her first collegiate race won Rookie of the Week.

Player of the Week Matt Serrao, SUNY Delhi Freshman / Franklin, NY 

Freshman Matt Serrao led SUNY Delhi men's soccer to a 2-0 start to the 2022 season. A defender, Serrao showed his offensive abilities by recording the game-tying goal and later assisting on the game-winning goal in the 71st minute as the Broncos downed Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, 2-1. He followed up with the assist on the game-winning goal in the 86th minute as Delhi dispatched in-state rival SUNY Morrisville, 2-1. 

Rookie of the Week Alexa Wolcott, SUNY Delhi Freshman / Wyoming, NY

Alexa Wolcott couldn't have started off her first collegiate season better than when she crossed the finish line first with a time of 15:37, to secure her first win in her first race. She not only won the 4k Tri-Meet but crossed the finish line 44 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. She did this against tough competition as well, beating both SUNY Oneonta and Hartwick.

Congratulations to the Freshman for making their mark on Delhi in their first week of action.
