The Broncos Fall in Away Game Against Utica 2-1

Delhi - The Delhi Men's (3-2) soccer team traveled to Utica late Wednesday and battled hard but unfortunately left with their second loss of the year. The Broncos fell 2-1 to the Pioneers with all three goals coming in the second half.

The Broncos held tough through the first half, with Tucker Garrett making five saves out of Utica's 13 shots. The Broncos held strong not giving up a first-half goal but would find themselves down early in the second half after Utica scored 10 minutes into it.

The Broncos showed true resilience as they have all year and equalized just nine minutes later. Justin Huallanca secured his first goal of the season with an incredible effort. He collected a long pass off a defender and fired top right from outside the box beating the goalkeeper.

Unfortunately, just four minutes later in the 69th minute, Utica found another goal off a penalty kick which would end up being the game-winner. The Broncos finished the match strongly in the second half though, holding Utica to only five total shots while firing off 10 of their own.

The Broncos will stay on the road and play NVU-Johnson Saturday, September 17th at 1 PM as part of a doubleheader with the Delhi Women's soccer team.
