Utica, NY – Delhi Women's Soccer took on SUNY Poly on the road in their first North Atlantic Conference match of the season, defeating the Wildcats 1-0. This win puts the Broncos at 4-1, their best start to the season since 2018 when they went 5-0 through their first five appearances.

After a tight first half in which neither team was able to take the lead, they went into the half deadlocked at zeros.

The Broncos freshman goalkeeper Vanessa Sanchez (Jurupa Valley, CA) made two saves as the offense only put up three total shots in the first half.

Delhi made their mark when it counted, putting away what would be the match-winner in the 67th minute.

Sophomore Kailey Leach (Latham, NY) scored with a header from a wonderful cross in from the corner by freshman Kaitlyn Hines (Staten Island, NY).

That was Leach's first goal of the season, and it marked Hines's third assist in the last three matches.

In goal, Sanchez finished with three saves as she and the Broncos recorded their second clean sheet of 2023.
