Cole Is National Runner-up Leading Eight Broncos to Eleven All-American Honors

Geneva, Ohio - The SUNY Delhi Track and Field programs capped off a historically great year at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships at the Spire Institute over the last three days.  Eight athletes made the trip to represent the Broncos, with all eight returning home as All-Americans!  Overall, Delhi athletes earned 11 All-American recognitions through the three days of competition.

The biggest highlight of the meet came from sprinter Miranda Cole.  Cole blasted out of the starting blocks early and roared to another new program record in the 200 meter dash, running 23.93 seconds and finishing as the NCAA Runner-up.  This finish matches Naquille Harris for the best finish ever by a Delhi athlete at the NCAA Championships.  Harris placed second in the 100 meters in 2022 on the same track.  Cole's finish also makes her SUNY Delhi's first ever individual female NCAA first team All-American.  Making Cole's performance even more impressive is that she entered the meet ranked 11th in the nation, then went into the final ranked fifth and finished in second!

However, the 200 meter dash was Cole's second time earning first team All-American recognition because earlier in the day on Saturday, she teamed up with Zoe Rodi, Shaesha Johnson and Belvia Konodji in the women's 400 meter relay.  The quartet, that broke the SUNYAC record at the All Atlantic Regional Track and Field Championships, entered the meet ranked as the number six team in the country and that's the place they were in when Konodji handed the baton off to Cole.  Cole ripped down the final straightaway making up significant ground and passed Bridgewater State to pull the team up to a fifth place finish.  This result earned all four relay members first team All-Ameriocan honors as well.

These two performances were strong enough to pile up 17 total points for the Delhi women, which placed them at 22nd in the country as a team.  This is the highest finish by any Delhi program in final NCAA rankings since making the move to the NCAA in 2022.

As if this were not exciting enough, Shaesha Johnson and Miranda Cole also both ran the 100 meters.  While neither of them advanced to the final, Johnson finished 10th and Cole 15th.  Both of those performances earned the women second team All-American honors.

The final representation the Broncos had at the championships came from the men's side where the 400 meter relay team of Marvin Markland, Deron Davis, Ransom Dutcher and Cristhian Cuevas.  The foursome ran in the preliminary round on Thursday where they placed 11th overall, also earning second team All-American honors.

In total, the team piled up 11 All-American honors from the eight athletes there:

2025 First Team All-Americans: Miranda Cole (200m, 4x100), Zoe Rodi (4x100), Shaesha Johnson (4x100), Belvia Konodji (4x100)

2025 Second Team All-Americans: Shaesha Johnson (100m), Miranda Cole (100m), Marvin Markland (4x100), Deron Davis (4x100), Ransom Dutcher (4x100), Cristhian Cuevas (4x100)

This is by far the best showing the Delhi program has had at an NCAA Championship.  Prior to this year, the program had a total of five NCAA All-American honors (Josh Jeffes - 3, Naquille Harris - 1, Dayzin Legare - 1), so this years performance more than triples that number.  Combine this with the 14 program records that fell this year as well as two SUNYAC records and three AARTFC Meet records and the Broncos had a banner year!  This officially concludes Delhi's 2024-25 athletic campaign as the athletes will look to regenerate and get ready to go back for more next year.
