Mahwah, NJ - The SUNY Delhi track & field team kicked off their outdoor campaign at the Ramapo Spring Invite, recording several impressive individual and team performances.
On the women's side, Amelia Bowman-McCoy would mark the start of a giant weekend for the Broncos, placing fifth overall in the 10000m and setting a school record with a time of 41:35.45. Charlotte Warner would take second place in the 5000m with a time of 17:57.97, earning her second all-time in school history. The Broncos 4x100 relay of Shaesha Johnson, Miranda Cole, Belvia Konodji, and Zoe Rodi would shatter the program with a time of 47.05, taking first overall. Delhi would dominate the 200m, taking the top two spots behind performances from Shaesha Johnson recording a time of 24.52 that sets a new program record and earns her the fastest current time in NCAA III on the season. Miranda Cole's second-place finish with a time of 24.69 places her in the top 10 for NCAA DIII on the season. Lastly, Amanda Intrieri would take third in the 1500m, posting a time of 4:49.22 and earning her second all-time in school history while hitting the regionals standard.
On the men's side, among the individual performances, Tawakal Omar would capture first overall in the 110m hurdles, recording a time of 14.74 that meets the regional standard. On the team side, the Broncos 4x400 relay of Richard Fuller, Marvin Markland, Jamar Matthew, and Neklor Smith took first place, posting a time of 3:16.46 and placing them in the top 10 for NCAA III on the season. Delhi's success continued in the 4x100 relay with another first-place finish that consisted of Deron Davis, Marvin Markland, Ryan Swinea, and Cristhian Cuevas recording a time of 42.24 that also hit the regional standard.
The squad will now shift their attention to the Hamilton Invite on Saturday, April 5th.
