Program Records Continue to Fall at Fast Trax Invite

Utica, NY - The SUNY Delhi track & field team was back in action for the Fast Trax Invite, recording several impressive individual and team performances. 

On the women's side, Charlotte Warner would break the existing program record that she had set earlier this season in the one mile. In doing so, Warner captured first overall with a time of 5:18.64 while earning AARTFC recognition. Amanda Intrieri would follow the same trend in the 800m, taking first while breaking the program record. Intrieri's time of 2:18.76. would also earn AARTFC recognition. Delhi would dominate in the 200m, taking the top three spots with Miranda Cole taking first, Zoe Rodi in second, and Shaesha Johnson to follow. The trio would all earn AARTFC recognition, while Cole would break the school record that she had set the week prior with a time of 25.73. Rodi would cap off her strong day by taking first overall in the 300m, posting a time of 41.13. In the field events portion, strong performances came from Melinda Reid, who grabbed third in the high jump, and Kitty Messina, who finished fourth in the shot put.

On the men's side, strong individual performances came in the 400m that saw the Broncos taking first, second, and fourth place finishes. Neklor Smith would cross the line first, recording a time of 49.43.  Richard Fuller would be next, finishing with a time of 50.91, and Leonardo Ballentine took fourth with a 51.93. Delhi's success carried over to the 200m open, earning the top 5 spots, headed by AARTFC caliber performances by Deron Davis in first (22.43) and Marvin Markland in second (22.47). Tawakal Omar would round out the top three with a time of 22.60. In the field events portion, Taehyoung Kim took third in the long jump, while Ryan Swinea captured fourth in the triple jump.

Delhi will return to the track Friday, February 28th for the SUNYAC Championships.
