Alex Devine Named as SUNY Delhi's Head Track & Field Coach

Delhi N.Y. - Alex DeVine, who most recently served as the head track & field coach at Onondaga Community College, has been named as SUNY Delhi’s next head track & field coach.

“We are very excited to have Alex come on board as the next head coach of our cross country and track and field programs. These programs had great success at every step in our transition to the NCAA and we believe Alex is the right person to continue the tradition, said Robb Munro, Director of Athletics. ‘His background with sprints, jumps and strength and conditioning will serve our excellent athletes in those events and compliment the work of our other programs coaches as well. Welcome to the Broncos Alex!”

"I am extremely excited to be joining the program as the Head Track and Field coach for the Delhi Broncos. SUNY Delhi has a rich history of competitiveness in track and field and I am grateful to be following coaches such as Bob Backus, Robb Munro, and Zach Brown, said Devine. ‘This program has been very successful in recent years and am looking forward to building upon that reputation & representing SUNY Delhi at the highest level."

Devine, a former student athlete at Onondaga Community College returned as the head strength & conditioning coach for three years before ultimately becoming the head track & field coach. During his time at Onondaga Community College, Devine lead the program to 20 school records, along with coaching five individual national champions. 

Devine has also spent time as an assistant coach at Morrisville State College and Fayetteville-Manlius High School. He has earned  several coaching certifications in addition to his Master’s degree in Fitness from SUNY Plattsburgh.
