Brockport, NY - The SUNY Delhi track & field team was back in action for the SUNYAC Championships, recording several impressive individual and team performances.
On the women's side, the squad would take home an impressive third-place finish; Charlotte Warner would lead the charge, taking gold in the 3000m posting a new program record with a time of 10:37.25. The Broncos distance medley team of Amanda Intrieri, Miya VanDewwerker, Mary Bryant, and Charlotte Warner took second place, while also setting a new program record with a time of 12:49.96, earning AARTFC recognition. Delhi's group would post several additional individual AARTFC qualifying performances across the two days of competition. In the sprints portion of the meet, Zoe Rodi captured second place and the school record in the 400m with a time of 58.58, similarly, Miranda Cole took down a school record and earned bronze in the 200m with a time of 25.28, and Shaesha Johnson earned bronze in the 60m. In the distance portion, Amanda Intrieri earned silver and a new program record in the 800m with a time of 2:18.16.
On the men's side, the team would finish in seventh place, headlined by a first-place finish in the 4x400 that consisted of Richard Fuller, Leonardo Ballentine, Jamar Matthew, and Neklor Smith. The squad posted an impressive time of 3:22.21, earning AARTFC recognition. Strong individual performances came from Tawakal Omar earning bronze in the 60m hurdles, along with Taehyoung Kim taking bronze in the triple jump. Neklor Smith would also grab AARTFC recognition and fourth place in the 400m with a time of 49.66.
Delhi now has their sights set on the AARTFC Indoor Track & Field Championships set for March 7th.
