School Records Continue To Fall as Track & Field Competes at Utica Winter Open

Utica, NY - The SUNY Delhi track & field team was back in action at the Utica Winter Open, which saw several strong individual and team performances. 

On the women's side, Delhi continued their dominance in the women's 60m with Shaesha Johnson placing first overall (7.75). Johnson's performance would once again earn AARTFC recognition while tying the school record that she had previous set in her last meet. Miranda Cole finished in third place (8.12), also earning herself AARTFC recognition on the day. Zoe Rodi would place first overall in the women's 500m, recording a time of (1.22.94), while distance runners Amelia Bowman-McCoy in the 5k (19.20.85) and Charlotte Warner in the mile (5.26.75) would set school records. The women's 4x200 relay that consisted of the three along with Belvia Konodji placed second overall with a time of 1.46.86.

On the men's side, strong individual performances came from Neklor Smith, placing fourth in the men's 500m (1.08.86), and Deron Davis finishing fifth in the men's 60m (7.11). The relay combination of Ryan Swinea, Jabez Primus, Marvin Markland, and Cristhian Cuevas would take third in the men's 4x400 (3.32.69). Taehyoung Kim would remain perfect in his Broncos campaign, taking first place once again in the triple jump (14.05). 

Delhi will be back at it next weekend as they shift their attention to the Houghton Invite on Saturday, Jan. 25.
