North Adams, MA - The SUNY Delhi lacrosse team was back in action Wednesday evening, looking to bounce back following a loss their last time out. The Broncos would take on MCLA looking to extend their conference win streak to two games.
From the start, Delhi would show us the team they've been for most of the season. Scoring their first goal of the contest directly off a faceoff win by Anthony Ferrato, he would take it all by himself to open up the scoring. Less than five minutes later, both Chris Lazazzaro and Jesse Hagen would find the back of the net, putting the Broncos ahead 3-0. Delhi wouldn't be done yet, having scored 8 unanswered first-quarter goals to take a commanding lead. The Broncos would ride that momentum into the second quarter, adding five more goals as Matt Castellani, Joseph Lazazzaro, and Jagger Beachak would all get on the scoresheet to help put Delhi ahead 13-1 at the break. It would be much of the same in the second half, as the squad would finish play with goals from 10 different players. The Broncos would cruise to victory, now having scored 15+ goals in a game for the fourth time this season. Delhi's top performer on the night would be none other than Chris Lazazzaro totaling 7 goals to go along with 2 assists.
The Broncos improve to 7-4 on the season, 2-1 in conference play, and will return to action Saturday for a home contest against conference opponent Thomas.
