Fayetteville, NC - The SUNY Delhi lacrosse team was back in action Wednesday, continuing their strong start to the season with a commanding 9-4 victory over Methodist.
It would be a competitive back-and-forth contest for the first half that saw Delhi with a narrow 2-1 lead after the first quarter behind goals from junior Jagger Beachak and senior Benjamin Moscatiello. The Monarchs would take a brief second quarter lead before the Broncos responded with
three unanswered goals, taking a 5-3 lead at the break. Delhi would start to take control of the contest in the third quarter on both sides of the ball. The defensive unit led by sophomore Nick Allen and a 13-save performance from first-year Jayden Messina held Methodist scoreless for the entire quarter. First-year Shane Vonkampen and sophomore Joe Anfuso would add goals of their own to extend the lead as Delhi's dynamic duo of Beachak and Moscatiello would record hat tricks on the day.
The Broncos improve to 2-0 on the season as they wrap up their southern road trip on Saturday at Southern Virginia.
