Delhi, NY— The SUNY Delhi lacrosse team returned to action Wednesday night looking for a bounce-back performance against a non-conference opponent in SUNY Purchase.
The contest would start quietly with the game remaining tied until the 8-minute mark, when Benjamin Moscatiello recorded the first of his three first-quarter goals. The floodgates began to open for the Delhi offense as they would record an additional 6 goals to finish out the quarter. The Broncos would ride that momentum into the second quarter; Joseph Lazazzaro and Jagger Beachak would lead the charge, both with two goals for the quarter, as the squad would cruise to a 16-1 halftime lead. The second half would be a replica of the first as Delhi would continue to dominate, collecting scores from 16 different members to earn the commanding 28-2 victory.
Delhi's top performers included Anthony Lotito dishing out 4 assists while netting two goals of his own. Jagger Beachak continued his offensive prowess, finishing with 4 goals and 2 assists, while Joseph Lazazzaro netted 3 goals and 2 assists.
The Broncos improve to 5-3 on the season and will return to action this Saturday for Senior Day, taking on Husson in a conference matchup.
