Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi lacrosse team returned to action this weekend, opening conference play against rival Maine Maritime.
The contest would be close in the opening minutes with both squads tied at one apiece behind a game-tying goal from Joseph Lazazzaro. Maine Maritime would start to break through, opening the floodgates following the ten-minute mark and never looked back. The Mariners would score fourteen first-half goals while holding the Broncos to just three goals at the break. Maine Maritime would essentially put the game out of reach with a 7 goals to none third-quarter performance. Jagger Beachak and Chris Lazazzaro would both record a goal and an assist on the day along with Joseph Lazazzaro adding his second of the game. Delhi would ultimely come up short as they fall to 0-1 in conference play.
The Broncos drop too 4-3 on the season and will be back in action at home on Wednesday, March 26th, against Purchase.
