Lacrosse Cruises to 13-3 Victory in Commanding Performance

Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi lacrosse team returned to action Monday afternoon, playing in their third game in just five days, taking on the Dolphins of Mount St. Vincent.

Despite the slew of games in recent days, the Broncos would appear unfazed from the opening whistle. Delhi would look to extend their win streak to two games following a commanding victory against Poly. The Broncos would start fast for the second consecutive game, scoring less than two minutes in as Joe Anfuso found the back of the net. Anthony McLaughlin would be next, less than a minute later, giving Delhi the early 2-0 lead. It would be all Broncos for the remainder of the contest. Chris Lazazzaro and Kyle Moore would add goals in consecutive games along with Joseph Lazazzaro recording a hat trick in the first half, catapulting Delhi to an 8-1 lead at the break. The second half would bring about much of the same, with the Broncos adding two goals in the third quarter by way of Anfuso's second of the game and Thomas Poniros first. Delhi's defense would remain stout, holding the Dolphins scoreless in back-to-back quarters. The Dolphins eventually break through with two goals in the fourth quarter but would not be enough as Delhi cruised to a 13-3 victory.

The Broncos improve to 4-2 on the season and will take on Maine Maritime away on Saturday at noon.
