Greensboro, NC— The Delhi men's lacrosse team kicked off their 2025 campaign in the warm sunshine of North Carolina.
Greensboro would jump out to an early 1-0 lead just over a minute into the contest. Delhi's high-powered offense didn't take long to respond. Junior Chris Lazazzaro opened the floodgates with back-to-back scores to regain the lead. The Broncos would not look back scoring an additional 3 unanswered goals. The Lions comeback attempt would fall short as Delhi turned to seven different goal scorers to earn the 12-5 victory. Sophomore Nick Allen anchored a strong back line, collecting eleven ground balls, with two caused turnovers. First-year goaltender Jayden Messina earned his first collegiate win, posting 8 saves on 13 shots.
Delhi's top performers included Lazazzaro, posting 3 goals and 4 assists, and junior Jagger Beachak adding 4 goals with 2 assists. The Broncos look to remain hot, as they take on Methodist Wednesday at 5pm.
