Dunmore, PA - The SUNY Delhi lacrosse team was back in action Wednesday night, looking to extend their win streak to three games taking on non-conference opponent Marywood University.
The Pacers would jump out to an early 1-0 lead, as Ben Meighan would find the back of the net less than five minutes into the contest. The Broncos would respond just a minute later as Matt Castellani scored his second goal of the season, tying the contest at one apiece. In the closing minutes of the first quarter, Shane Von Kampen would give the Broncos a 2-1 lead off an assist from Benjamin Moscatiello. For the lone goal in the second, Delhi would lean on their leading goal scorer, Jagger Beachak, to give the Broncos a 3-1 lead at the break.
In an evenly matched third quarter, it would take over ten minutes of action to find the game's next goal. Logan Sanders would break the deadlock, followed by Shaun Howey less than two minutes later, even the match at three. In the deciding fourth quarter, the Broncos would take a brief lead behind a goal from Chris Lazazzaro. The Pacers would continue to have an answer this time in the way of Ben Peters re-tying the game up for the third time. In the closing seconds of the game, Marywood would score the late-game thriller off the stick of Ben Meighan to capture the 5-4 victory.
The Broncos fall to 6-4 on the season and will return to action Tuesday for an away contest against conference opponent MCLA.
