FARMINGTON, Me. (October 5, 2019) – Two second-half goals carried the SUNY Delhi men's soccer team to a 2-1 NAC victory at Maine Farmington on Saturday. After a scoreless first half, the Broncos got out in front on the heels of scores by Ryan O'Hare and Emmanuel Gonzalez. A late goal by the Beavers did little to hinder Delhi from becoming one conference victory richer, improving to 3-1 in NAC play and 5-6 overall.

The Broncos began the contest locked and loaded, taking the Beavers for ten first-half shots, but to no avail. They nearly broke through early in the second half, but Juan Velez's header hit the post. These efforts, however, set the stage for a pair of Broncos to score their first goals of the season. O'Hare scored the opening goal on an assist by Christian Quinde at 62:26, while Gonzalez followed up with an insurance score at 67:44. UMF posed a threat at 82:21 on a Yusuf Mohamed goal, but Delhi's defense and three saves by goalkeeper Corey O'Toole ended any hopes of a Beavers comeback.

Delhi led, 14-9, in shots, including 6-4 in shots on goal. O'Toole improved to 5-5 on the year, holding a 2.25 goals allowed average and .696 save percentage.

The victory keeps head coach Brian Mitko's team at second place in the NAC standings, trailing Thomas, who is 3-0 in NAC play; the two teams will meet at Thomas on Saturday, Oct. 19. Up next, the Broncos have the week to prepare for their NAC home weekend. It begins Saturday, Oct. 12 against Maine Presque Isle at 1:00 p.m., followed by Husson on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 12:00 p.m.
