O'Toole's Big NAC Weekend Pays Off with Conference Honors

WATERVILLE, Me. (October 15, 2019) – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) today announced senior goalkeeper Corey O'Toole (Colonie, NY / Colonie Central) as its Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. O'Toole earned the honor after his lights-out performances over the weekend helped the Broncos to NAC wins over Maine Presque Isle on Saturday and Husson on Sunday. Delhi is now 7-6 overall and 5-1 in league play.

O'Toole split halves in goal with teammate Noah Blake Saturday as the two posted a combined shutout in the team's 4-0 win over the UMPI Owls. The native of Colonie, NY finished with two saves during his shift in the first half. He then put on a nine-save display in a tight 2-1 win over Husson Sunday. After being honored as part of Grad Day prior to the game, his only goal allowed came on a penalty kick in the 76th minute. Arguably his finest save against the Eagles was his last, as a good line to the upper right corner by Joao Passoni was deflected away by a leaping, fully-extended O'Toole with a minute-and-a-half to play. The win gave Delhi sole possession of second place in the NAC standings with two conference matches still to play.

The Colonie Central graduate is 7-5 on the season with 2.5 shutouts. He holds a 2.03 goals allowed average and .728 save percentage.

O'Toole and the Broncos wrap up their home regular season on Wednesday against Hartwick, then head to NAC-foe and first-place Thomas on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Their last regular-season contest is a NAC matchup at Northern Vermont Lyndon on Saturday, Oct. 26.
