DELHI, N.Y. (October 12, 2019) – The SUNY Delhi women's soccer team got started with a goal 23 seconds into their NAC match with Maine Presque Isle Saturday and never looked back, scoring the opening four goals, all in the first half, in a 4-1 victory. A pair of goals from Brianna Laing and one each from Alexa DuBois and Kelsey Innes made up the "who's who" of Delhi's scoring as the ladies jumped to 6-5-1 overall and 3-2 in the NAC.

Alexa Scaglione, who tallied two assists on the day, proved to be the catalyst for Delhi's first two scores. The ladies got started right from the opening whistle, taking the opening kick down the field, where Scaglione fed DuBois for the first score of the day in a record time this season of 00:23. Scaglione then provided a feed to Laing at 9:27 that found the net as the ladies held a 2-0 advantage. Laing lined up for her next score at 18:41 to go up, 3-0, then team-leading scorer Kelsey Innes closed out the onslaught with a score at 33:17, when a cross from the right side by Reanen Goodspeed bounced off a defender to an open Innes. The Owls' lone retort came from a score by Hannah Nadeau at 68:23, when she scored off a rebound following a shot by Alexis Rodriguez.

Goalkeeper Jessica Shultis logged two saves on the day as she improved to 4-0-1 on the season in goal. Innes and Dubois' scores Saturday puts them tied for second in the NAC with 11 goals, while Innes ranks second in the conference with 28 points and DuBois third with 25 points. Laing's two goals were her first of the season, as Scaglione's two assists puts her tied for third on the team, alongside Micayla Slattery, with 16 points on six goals and four assists.

Saturday's conference victory puts Delhi at third place in the NAC standings, trailing first-place Maine Maritime, who is 5-0 in league play, and tomorrow's opponent Husson, who stand in second at 3-1 in the NAC. Head coach Lauren Mackay's team plays host to the Eagles Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in their home season finale.
