Kelsey Innes' 16-Point Week Capped with NAC Honors

WATERVILLE, Me. (September 16, 2019) – Sophomore Kelsey Innes' high-scoring week paid big dividends when the North Atlantic Confernce (NAC) awarded the midfielder its Player of the Week award. Innes posted a staggering 16 points on six goals and four assists in Delhi's two wins this week. This included a career-high nine points on three goals and three assists in the Broncos' 7-1 win at Keystone on Tuesday, followed by a three-goal, one-assist performance in the team's 10-0 win at Northern Vermont Johnson in their NAC season opener Saturday. Head coach Lauren Mackay's squad stands at 4-0-1 on the year and 1-0 in conference play.

Innes had a hand in the Broncos' first six goals against the Giants, starting with scoring the first two goals, followed by assisting the next to help Delhi to a 4-0 early second half lead. She then scored Delhi's fifth goal of the day for her second hat trick of the season, then assisted on the following score as the Broncos led, 6-0, through 70 minutes of play.

The native of North Babylon, NY followed with another hat trick in Delhi's ten-goal effort at NVU Johnson, netting two in the first half and another early in the second, as well as assisting on Alexa DuBois' second-half goal that made the score 8-0 in the 54th minute.

Innes and the Broncos have two home matches this week as they look to continue their unbeaten start. The ladies play Morrisville State Wednesday at 4:00 p.m., followed by NAC preseason favorite Maine Maritime on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
