ALFRED, N.Y. (October 23, 2019) – Five Alfred University goals in each half spelled a 10-0 defeat for the SUNY Delhi women's soccer team in their last non-conference match of the season Wednesday night. The Broncos, who are playoff bound for next weekend's NAC Tournament, complete their regular on Saturday at Northern Vermont Lyndon. Delhi now stands at 7-6-2 overall.

Goalkeepers Jessica Shultis and Rachael Scoones exchanged halves in goal, with Shultis recording seven saves in the first half and Scoones three in the closing half. The match remained scoreless through the first 20 minutes before the Saxons struck with five scores over roughly the next 22-and-a-half minutes for a 5-0 lead at the break. AU's Karah Landries, Olivia Cronmiller, Krissy Roberts, and Emily Wright each had two-goal games, with Landries, Cronmiller, and Wright also adding an assist. The Saxons finished with a 30-5 lead in shots, including 22-2 in shots on goal.

With a conference tournament spot in hand, head coach Lauren Mackay's team now shifts their attention fully back to the NAC, where they'll look to end the regular season on a high note versus the NVU Lyndon Hornets Saturday at 2:45 p.m.

The Broncos are currently in third place in the NAC standings with a 4-2-1 league record. They stand behind first-place Maine Maritime (6-0 NAC) and second-place Husson (4-1-1 NAC). Delhi took both teams to overtime, where they came up short to MMA and tied the Eagles. The NAC Tournament consists of six teams, with the top two seeds earning a first-round bye and the remaining four contesting in the quarterfinals the weekend of Nov. 2-3, held at the third and fourth seed's home site. The winners move on to the NAC Final Four, hosted by the number-one seed.
