Five Post Multi-Goal Games in 10-0 Win at NVU Johnson to Open NAC Season

JOHNSON, Vt. (September 14, 2019) – After a 7-1 win at Keystone earlier this week, the unbeaten SUNY Delhi women's soccer team took their high-scoring talents to Northern Vermont Johnson Saturday, overwhelming their hosts with a 10-0 win to open their NAC season. Five Broncos had two goals on the day, including Kelsey Innes, Sam Acuna, Micayla Slattery, Alexa DuBois and Alexa Scaglione, as Delhi improved to 4-0-1 on the year.

The Broncos tallied six of their goals in the first half, with Scaglione and Slattery netting both their goals in the opening session. The ladies kept on the attack in the second half with four more, including Innes notching both her scores in the latter period. DuBois, Innes and Slattery each also had an assist on the afternoon for five-point days. Innes pushed her scoring totals to a NAC-best 19 points and five assists, as well as ranking second in the conference with seven goals.

Goalkeeper Jessica Shultis presided over goal the entirety of the match for her first shutout, as the defense held the Badgers to just two shots. The Broncos offense, on the other hand, posted an outstanding 28 shots. The victory marked the Broncos' highest single-game goal total since last season's 15-0 win over Villa Maria on Sept. 9, 2018.

Saturday's win wrapped up a three-match road trip for Delhi, which also featured victories over Elmira and Keystone, as they now head back home for five consecutive matches. It begins this Wednesday when the Broncos host Morrisville State at 4:00 p.m., followed by NAC-opponent Maine Maritime on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1:00 p.m. They then take on Lycoming on Sept. 24, NAC-opponent SUNY Canton Sept. 28, and finally Albany College of Pharmacy Oct. 2.
