DELHI, N.Y. (September 24, 2019) – Three rapid Lycoming first-half goals put the SUNY Delhi women's soccer team behind a high-shooting Warriors team in a weekday clash Tuesday, leading to a 4-1 defeat. Alexa DuBois got the Broncos' lone score of the day, while goalkeeper Rachael Scoones totaled a career-best 20 saves as Delhi suffered its third straight defeat to stand at 4-3-1.

The match was scoreless for the first 22 minutes before the Warriors reeled off three consecutive goals in a span of just over three-and-a-half minutes. Elle Sarracco started off the scoring when her shot deflected off Scoones, but got the rebound to the bury the first score at 22:05. Lyco's Bailey Gilmore found her scoring opportunity on a breakaway roughly two minutes later to collect the Warriors' second goal at 24:24. The tandem of Michayla Hazard and Alicia Blizzard completed the trifecta, as Blizzard fed Hazard at 25:42 to take a 3-0 lead to intermission.

Alexa DuBois got one back for Delhi to start the second half with a score at 49:46. The Broncos defense looked to build a strong case for a comeback, as Scoones went on to grab five notable saves to preserve the deficit. The Warriors, however, restored their three-goal lead off a direct corner kick, as Blizzard's cross curled its way into the top right corner of the net at 70:02 for the final score of the day.

Scoones collected 20 saves for a .833 save percentage against a Warriors squad that fired 36 shots to the Broncos' 10, including 24-6 in shots on goal. DuBois now has 20 points and nine goals on the year for second on the team.

Head coach Lauren Mackay's team looks to turn things around this Saturday when they host NAC-opponent SUNY Canton at 3:30 p.m.
