Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi women's basketball team returned to conference action, coming up short to UMPI.
UMPI would jump out to an early lead, starting the game on a 7-0 run, finishing the first quarter ahead by ten points. The Owls would remain in control throughout the second, posting their best quarter of the game. UMPI would enter the break with a comfortable double-digit lead.
The Broncos would flip the script in the second half, getting the better of the play, outscoring the Owls by 9 points in the fourth quarter. Despite a comeback attempt from Delhi, UMPI would ultimately hang on for the victory.
Delhi's top performers included junior Shakera Fullenwilder, leading the Broncos in scoring, posting a season-high 25 points. Sophomore Jewel Torres posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds to go along with 6 assists and 4 steals, and sophomore Samantha Miller added 12 points and 9 rebounds.
The Broncos fall to 0-14, 0-5 in conference play, and will take on Maine Maritime away on Saturday.
