Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi women's basketball team was back in action Friday to kick off their 2024-25 campaign, coming up short against Vermont Tech Randolph. 

The Knights would waste no time jumping out to an early lead in their season opener, finishing ahead 21-8 at the end of the first quarter. Delhi would bounce back with a competitive showing in the second quarter in a back-and-forth 10 minutes that would only be decided by a point. The Knights would still remain on top entering the break with a 14-point lead. The second half would bring much of the same that saw the Knights eventually begin to pull away late to earn the victory. 

Delhi's top performers included Shakera Fullenwilder, recording 12 points, and Jewel Torres, totaling four steals and a block on the defensive end. The Broncos fall to 0-1 and will have a quick turnaround tomorrow as they take on Purchase at 1:00 p.m. to wrap up their Delhi's Tip-Off Tournament.
