Heuler Places 17th in Nation, Harris Advances in 200 Meters

GENEVA, OH (May 26, 2022) - The NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships got underway at the SPIRE Institute today with two members of the SUNY Delhi team competing.

Rebecca Heuler, who first started throwing the javelin three months ago capped off an incredible season of progress placing 17th in the NCAA Championships.  On her first throw, Heuler sent the javelin 36.15 meters which proved to be her best throw of the day.  Heuler broke the SUNY Delhi school record in the event in Rochester on May 15 with a throw of 40.69 meters to earn her way into the meet.

Naquille Harris also started his busy weekend with the prelims of the 200 meters.  Harris had a stumble midway through the race, but held on to run 21.12 seconds which was good enough to advance him to Saturday's final for the event.  He will be the eighth qualifier into the race.  Harris ran a new SUNY Delhi school record in the event of 21.07 seconds at the All Atlantic Regional meet last week.

Friday's action will see Joshua Jeffes get his weekend started with the preliminary round of the 400 meters at 3:15pm and Harris will be back for the prelims of the 100 at 3:45pm.  Live stream links for Friday and Saturday can be found on the schedule page for each day.
