STATEN ISLAND, NY (February, 11 2022) - The Broncos track and field team took advantage of their first trip to a banked track this year, when they traveled to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY.  The trip to take part in the highly competitive Fasttrack Invite was highlighted by two new school records and many other huge performances.

On the women's side, Kadie-Ann Whyte ran another huge personal best in the 60 meter dash, dropping her time to 8.03 seconds, making her the third Bronco sprinter to break the former school record this year.  She then returned for the 200 meters where she ran 26.95 seconds for another huge personal best.  The performances rank her as the third fastest in program history for the 60 meters and sixth all-time in the 200 meters.

On the men's side, sprinters Naquille Harris and Joshua Jeffes continued their assault on the record books.  Harris won the 60 meter dash with a fantastic 6.89 performance, the broke the school record in the 200 meters, placing fifth and running 22.09 seconds.  That record had been set at 22.20 last week by Jeffes.  Not to be outdone, Jeffes broke his own school record in the 400 meters again, running a very fast 48.59 seconds for third place overall.  Another sprinter with a notable performance was freshman Mickenson Simon who dipped under 23 seconds in the 200 meters for the first time with a 22.87.

In the longer events, Seth Bywater ran 8:39.50 for another big personal best.  He now ranks fourth all time in the program history in the event.  That performance was good for sixth place overall.  In the mile, Aidan Cutting completed his return to form with a 4:22.52.

The team will be in action again next weekend at West Point.
