ANNANDAL-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. (October 19, 2021) - The SUNY Delhi women's soccer team put an end to their non-conference season slate Tuesday night with a satisfying 2-0 win at Bard. Two first-half scores charted Delhi's path to victory, along with nine saves from goalie Rachael Scoones, to pump Delhi's record to 9-5 entering its final regular-season match this Saturday versus NAC-foe SUNY Canton.

The Broncos jumped on the board in only the fourth minute, when an open Alexa DuBois was about to deliver a centering pass from the right side when she was fouled and awarded a penalty kick. She followed through for her team-leading 12th score of the year. The next score came in minute 32 from Casey Bugbee, assisted by Kelsey Innes. Bugbee's second goal of the season arrived when her delivery from the right side of the box deflected off the hands of Bard's keeper and into the top left of the net. The defense was once again stellar on a night where Bard led 22-5 in shots and 9-4 in shots on goal. Sweeper Olivia Curry fended off many strong scoring efforts, leaving only a handful of Raptors opportunities for Scoones to handle excellently for her fourth complete-game shutout.

Head coach Zach Ward's team sits in a great position entering Saturday's home NAC matchup with Canton at 12:00 p.m. With a 6-1 league record, a win will lock up the top seed and hosting rights for the NAC West Tournament the weekend of Oct. 30-31. Saturday will also be SUNY Delhi's Senior Day, recognizing the team's seven graduating student-athletes.
