SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (December 17, 2019) – The American Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) announced Justine Lubbers (East Meredith, NY / Charlotte Valley Central) as its Women's Basketball Player of the Week. This marks the Broncos' first selection of the 2019-20 season.
The freshman played a vital role down low in Delhi's meeting with Alfred State on Saturday. She tallied eight points and four rebounds, making 4-of-6 from the field. Lubbers' was just one of several Broncos whose strong performances kept the team tight with the Pioneers through the first three quarters, never trailing by more than one possession at each quarter break. Alfred State eventually used a strong fourth quarter to take an 82-72 win.
Lubbers and the Broncos return from winter break heading to Western Connecticut State in late December for the Hat City Tournament. Delhi opens play against the host WCSU Colonials on Sunday, Dec. 29 at 3:00 p.m., and will play in either the championship or consolation game on Monday, Dec. 30.
