WATERVILLE, Me. (April 27, 2021) – Softball sophomore Katelynn Rose (Hyde Park, NY / Franklin D. Roosevelt) earned NAC Player of the Week in a dual-threat performance, starting four games in the circle and going 3-0. Her showings helped Delhi sweep Cazenovia last Monday to even the four-game series, and take three out of four at SUNY Poly Saturday and Sunday.

Rose started both games last Monday versus Caz, earning the 5-3 win in the opener allowing three earned runs on six hits in four innings of work. She then delivered two strikeouts with three earned runs on five hits through five frames in the nightcap, which resulted in a 6-5 walkoff win for the Broncos after trailing 5-4 entering the bottom of the seventh. She also delivered a third-inning two-RBI single to give Delhi a 3-2 lead.

The Hyde Park native started Saturday's 4-2 eight-inning opening win at Poly, pitching all eight frames and shutting out the Wildcats through the first five innings, allowing six hits with no earned runs. In game two's 5-4 victory Sunday, she gave up just two earned runs with one strikeout, while batting 3-for-4 with an RBI single for team's fifth and deciding run of the contest.

Rose and the Broncos are scheduled for a non-conference twin bill date at SUNY Oneonta this Wednesday. The Broncos wrapped up their NAC West season at 10-6 (12-6), and await word on a possible playoff berth as member schools complete their regular seasons this week.
